MASM-841 with Section Navigation

Components Update from New Section Navigation
The new section navigation component will have a title, sections and sub-sections. The section navigation title should be subheader-semibold. The section navigation section and sub-section should be small-regular. When highlighted, the font is bolded. The new sub-section will be indented 32px to the right in comparison with the sections in the section navigation component. Any other existing behaviour for the Section Navigation should remain as-is. By default, when a page is created, there should be no section navigation. The section navigation component can be activated on demand in CMS.

  1. 2018

    As part of the 2018 Industry-Wide Stress Test exercise, MAS subjected insurers to a scenario featuring extreme flooding in Singapore, and they had to consider the impact of higher claims on their balance sheets arising from damage to insured properties.

  2. 2022

    The exercise raised awareness of the potential economic and financial implications of climate risks and will facilitate learning for both MAS and financial institutions as we collectively develop capabilities in this area.

Mr Ravi Menon

Managing Director

Mr Ravi Menon was appointed Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 2011. He was previously Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Trade & Industry (MTI) and Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
Mr Menon began his career at MAS in 1987. During his 16 years in MAS, he was involved in monetary policy; econometric forecasting; organisational development; banking regulation and liberalisation; and integrated supervision of complex financial institutions. Mr Menon spent a year at the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, as a member of the secretariat to the Financial Stability Forum. A recipient of the Singapore Government's Meritorious Service Medal and Public Administration (Gold) Medal, Mr Menon has served on a variety of boards in the public, private, and people sectors in Singapore. On the international front, Mr Menon chairs the Network of Central Banks and Supervisors for Greening the Financial System. He is also a member of the Financial Stability Board (FSB) Steering Committee. Mr Menon holds a Master's in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Economics from the National University of Singapore.

Mr Chia Der Jiun

Managing Director (Designate)

Mr Chia Der Jiun was appointed Managing Director-Designate on 1 November 2023.  He is concurrently Permanent Secretary (Development) at the Ministry of Manpower.
Prior to his appointment at MOM in 2020, Der Jiun had spent 18 years at MAS in a range of functions covering monetary policy implementation, reserve management, macroeconomic surveillance, and banking supervision and regulation. At the MAS, he was last Deputy Managing Director (Corporate Development) with responsibilities for risk, finance, payment system and currency operations, HR and organisation transformation. Der Jiun also served as Executive Director for Southeast Asia at the International Monetary Fund from 2011 to 2013. He holds a BA(Hons) in Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MBA from INSEAD.
