Project 1: Data Science in Trading and Investment Workflows
Department Data & Technology Architecture Department
Description of project

Under the TEDA Programme, you will be working on the below initiative:
Trading is an important operation in MAS reserve management function. Analysing, presenting and learning from transaction data will is crucial for enhance the efficiency and precision of the daily trading operations. Data science contributes to the re-design and streamlining implementation of the existing data system and infrastructure supporting the heavily data-reliant oriented tasks/workflows in the trading and investment teams. We welcome a fresh data scientist to join the data science team contributing to the mentioned initiative.

Expected deliverables for the project - Collect and analyse data from various trading data sources including commercial and open data repositories (throughout the programme).
- Design and develop algorithms, systems, dashboards, visualization charts, tables, and graphs, using off-the-shelf products (e.g. Tableau) and open-source tools (e.g. Python) (throughout the programme).

Project 2: Chinese Natural Language Processing
Department Data & Technology Architecture Department
Description of project

Under the TEDA Programme, you will be working on the below initiative:
AI-based document understanding in Chinese language will provide precious insights on issues which are less of a focus for the mainstream media. The recent large language models broke new grounds in language understanding. The impacts are greatly felt for use cases involving English language, and natural language processing in Chinese still remains less straight-forward and less explored/developed, be it in data or algorithm. We like to set up the data science system and infrastructure supporting AI-based document understanding in Chinese language in MAS, which will enable better surveillance and in-depth analysis of economic and market developments in China.

- Leverage on data insights to inform investment decision on China and international markets (throughout the programme).
