Description of project

Under the TEDA Programme, you will be part of the Tech Products team that looks at the development of eLicensing portal. eLicensing is a business licensing portal for financial institutions. It aims to deliver a user-friendly and efficient licensing experience. Thus far, the citizen facing portal has been completed. Development is now shifting to the internal officer dashboard that aims to improve work efficiency.

Expected deliverables for the project As a Software Engineer (frontend), you will:
- Work closely with product managers, UX designers, engineers to define and develop web application
- Use React to translate product specifications into fully functional interfaces
- Develop and manage well-functioning APIs
- Build and maintain extensible front-end code
- Build prototypes to demonstrate technology opportunities
- Propose how to structure front end work
- Have good eye for technical details in bridging the graphical design and technical feasibility
- Be sensitive to the impact of front-end implementation to the users
- Write production quality code, and
- Learn and share knowledge in a multi-disciplinary team.

Project 2: Enterprise Data Science Platform Engineer (Mirage)

Description of project

Under the TEDA Programme, you will be part of an exciting production engineering team that is building and operating MAS's cloud based enterprise data science platform (EDSP). As a platform engineer, you are expected to support the initial setup of EDSP and Day 2 operations. In the process, you will gain knowledge of the latest technologies, get exposure to MAS environment and work closely with the data science community to onboard successful data science products to the EDSP.

Expected deliverables for the project - Support implementation of EDSP within GCC AWS
- Support data scientists in MAS to onboard new products onto EDSP
- Support enquiries relating to EDSP from MAS users
- Support upgrade of EDSP to cater for growth

Project 3: Legal Language Technology

Description of project

Under the TEDA Programme, you will be working on the below initiative:
Legal language technology in MAS involves how we adopt technology and natural language processing (NLP) to assist with the important functions of MAS departments working with legal related documents. We aim to deliver an intuitive legal technology application/platform offering important value-adding features that helps to automate certain processes in relevant legal area of work. We welcome a fresh graduate with computer science background contributing in areas involving software engineering (front-end & back-end) and data science for this initiative.

Expected deliverables for the project - Support development/implementation of a legal language technology application in MAS

Project 4: Robotic Process Automation
Department Information Technology Department
Description of project

Under the TEDA Programme, you will be part of the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team responsible for design, developing, testing, and implementing RPA processes to streamline business processes and improve overall efficiency, which is a significant part of MAS’ transformation effort. You will work closely with various departments to identify automation opportunities and develop solutions that meet their needs.

Expected deliverables for the project

Develop 4-6 RPA processes 
- Collaborate with business departments to identify automation opportunities, and facilitate business process re-engineering where needed
- Work with subject matter experts and design solutions which include system architecture, application architecture, including security and data design, resiliency, performance, reusability, product competency and programming skills.
- Identify and mitigate technical pitfalls and challenges
- Develop RPA solutions on Blue Prism, using Agile methodologies
- Coordinate and work with other application or technical teams to resolve impediments
- Conduct testing of RPA solutions to ensure they meet business requirements
- Continuously evaluate and improve RPA solutions to ensure they meet changing business needs

You will be working in a fast-paced environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.

Project 5: Software development for Financial Sector Monitoring
Department Inspection & Supervisory Methodologies Department
Description of project

Under the TEDA Programme, you will be supporting the analytics work to enhance MAS’ monitoring and supervision of the financial services industry in Singapore. You will be working with SSA’s software engineering team to help develop modules within MAS’ Surveillance & Centralised Analysis (SCAN) application, including the social media listening tool (SMLT), and/or news monitoring tool (NMT). Through this project, you will have the opportunity to work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g. MAS’ supervisory teams, technology group) and external stakeholders (e.g. vendors, FIs, foreign regulators) to ensure that deliverables are achieved. 

Expected deliverables for the project

Along with SSA software engineering team members, perform the following tasks:
- discuss with financial supervisors to understand their needs in social media monitoring, including how these needs help them to achieve supervisory goals.
- translate these needs into software features and feature enhancements 
- Identify the technology and data science solutions needed to support the new features/feature enhancements. 
- Develop, test and deploy the new features/feature enhancements on the Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) and/or other environments as needed
- Review with supervisory teams to assess performance of the features and fine-tune as needed, iteratively.

As a member of the development team you will work with the team to perform the aforementioned tasks in accordance with the broader product timelines and milestones.

Project 6: Analytics and Market Surveillance for Investment Performance and Risk of MAS' Foreign Reserves

Description of project

Under the TEDA Programme, you will be part of the team responsible to conduct and enhance market surveillance for MAS' foreign reserves portfolio. You will also work closely with portfolio managers and relevant stakeholders to translate business requirements into useful data insights to support and enhance investment risk and performance management of MAS' foreign reserves. You will gain an appreciation of the investment performance and risk management of MAS' foreign reserves and exposure to market developments while applying practicable data management solutions.

Expected deliverables for the project

Market performance and risk surveillance data analytics
- Design appropriate schema to enable mapping of market data across multiple datasets for efficient ingestion and processing of data
- Enrich existing security level information with additional fields and descriptors to enable better monitoring and attribution of portfolio performance and risk exposure
- Develop appropriate logics and scripts to automate calculation of market performance and portfolio exposure metrics
- Test and validate data sets and any processing scripts to ensure accuracy and reliability of input and output

Implement commercial risk and performance solution for investment portfolio analytics
- Gather in-house business requirements to convey and operationalise business needs in collaboration with relevant IT stakeholders and system vendor
- Configure setups in system for new investment instrument as well as appointment and termination of investment mandates
- Oversee data reconciliation from external sources against system generated outputs

Incorporate the use of AI in market risk surveillance
- Collaborate with in-house data scientists to refine AI and machine learning processing models for early detection and alert of potential red flags and defaults in specific entities and investments with qualitative and quantitative sources such as public news, articles and social media outlets with aim to enhance market surveillance and investment risk monitoring.

Development is now shifting to the internal officer dashboard that aims to improve work efficiency.
